The space beyond

Yesterday I bought two books that I always wanted. I just hope I will have some free time to read them, the near future it's still not very clear. Future allways in motion as Yoda said on a Starwars movie ;)

On of them comes from the famous writer, Carl Sagan. Title it's "Cosmos" and he did a TV serie with that name when I was a kid. I still remember it and have it on DVD now, remastered with comments. I surely recommend it for all astronomy enthusiasts.

The title of this book it's "<a href="http://not-a-real-namespace/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Brief_History_of_Time">A Brief History of Time</a>".</p> <p>I have here to finish reading also from Carl Sagan the book "<a href="http://not-a-real-namespace/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Demon-Haunted_World">The Demon-Haunted World</a>", one of his famous and popular, other one "<a href="http://not-a-real-namespace/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_%28novel%29#External_link">Contact</a>", a great book and movie with <a href="http://not-a-real-namespace/http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000149/">Jodie Foster</a>.</p> <p>A classic one to read (I don't know when...)from Herman Melville, "<a href="http://not-a-real-namespace/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moby_dick">Moby Dick"</a>.</p>

I have here to finish reading also from Carl Sagan the book "The Demon-Haunted World", one of his famous and popular, other one "Contact", a great book and movie with Jodie Foster.

A classic one to read (I don't know when...)from Herman Melville, "Moby Dick".

Retrogaming

Yes, I'm addicted to games or better, used to be. Nowadays I don't play much, my time is dedicating on chatting and surfing the web for new stuff.

Recently I bought an old computer from the 80's, an Commodore Amiga 1200 with some new stuff like a 40 GB Hard Drive, etc. The golden days for my generation or good old times as we call it.

You can find some of the good old days on our past memories, revive some old passions and even play the game on the PC on this site of the famous game, The Great Giana Sisters.

In fact the 2D games are far better than this new 3D games that seems all the same to me, don't you agree?

Hell, I spent days and weeks playing this 2D games, they were addictive, we can't find that spirit on the recent games for PC, X-Box or PS2.

At least go to this site, download and play this great Galaga clone, Warblade, a classic shoot'em up for PC with awesome graphics and sound. Pump up the volume ;)

My name is Sérgio Nuno Barros Santos de Campos Azeredo and this is my first experience in the world of Blogging :)
I live in Maia, Portugal, a city near Porto, yes, that one where the famous Oporto wine comes from :)
I'm 32 years old and this blog begins at the year 2006 of August in a holidays summer where I was bored staying at home ;)
In case if you are wondering on what stuff I do for a living, what I like, well, I work in the IT field as Network Engineer, or at least I worked, I'm looking forward for new projects in the near future.
More about me, let me think... oh yes, what I like, I love music, my favorite bands are Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Clan of Xymox, The Mission, Placebo, Sisters of Mercy, and so on and so on... I like all good music :) I went to see Roger Waters from Pink Floyd live at Lisbon once, it was great, best concert I ever been.
I love all my good friends, they know who they are, also my favorite hobby, computers, that's the thing that drived me here since all this years. I started with a Timex 2068 Spectrum computer, and since there I never stopped.
Sometimes I feel that I need to change my life to another things but I love almost everything related to IT though I prefer to be on a tropical island laying down behind a palm tree drinking something good and cold :)
oh.. and of course... the world best soccer team I'm a fan of, Futebol Clube do Porto (F.C. Porto).







I think I'm wasting too much time at home now, that I'm on holidays, I just went to the beach like 2 or 3 times, well, I have 1 more whole week to waste and some friends around, so I hope I will go somewhere out because being at home it's not real nice when a man is on holidays ;)
I will post more stuff with things I will find interesting, funny, good :) and more things about me maybe, who knows ;)
